It’s crazy how life works. Seems like sometimes it takes a century just to find out who we really are. As long as it may take I can’t argue that it does feel good once you find that one thing you’re meant to do. Whenever you find that one thing you can do and it makes you forget about time. That’s when you know you’ve found your passion.

Growing up I never really knew what I wanted to do or be. When I was younger, people threw around ideas. Saying I’ll be a preacher, I’ll be a football player, or maybe even an engineer. I laugh at that today cause I’m the total opposite of all of those suggestions. I’m a fucking tattoo artist and I wouldn’t change that for anything. I love my career, hell the whole lifestyle. I get to come to work and be myself each and every day. It’s a blessing and I give all praise to God for allowing it to happen. It wasn’t an easy walk in the park to get here, but it was definitely worth the journey.
I lost many people, many relationships throughout the way. I couldn’t tell you how many sleepless nights I’ve experienced. If you’re a dreamer I’m sure you can relate, it’s like your mind is just running 100 mph with no breaks to slow down the acceleration. There also were those nights where I got caught in my feelings while hitting the blunt and listening to some “Drake.” Maybe a few tears ran down my face. Me thinking a couple of shots of crown may do the trick and get me back, but instead hits me even harder than the kush in the swisher. It’s crazy because I needed those nights, I still experience nights like that to this day. Those are the nights that had me thinking on another level, my mind on a cloud full of ideas, me taking a step back to reflect on how my life is going and where I want it to be. It also was a chance to observe the people and relationships I had going on around me. This is where you start to put pieces of the puzzle together, or sketch out your blueprint. This is what you call “Your Vision.”
One thing I’ve learned when it comes to visions is that not everyone will see yours the way you do. Which means people will bash you, talk down on you, or do as much shit as they can to keep you from achieving your goal. With that being said, you will throw away a lot of relationships or have to put your ear plugs in, even if it’s your grandpa that’s knocking your dream. Don’t get me wrong it’s okay to take in what people say, but sometimes people will knock your dream because they couldn’t do it or they are too scared to try. This is where I feel I stand out from others. I feel like there are certain people out there who are going to chase their dream no matter what, and there are those who are just comfortable with just making it and getting by. I’ll save that whole conversation for another blog, but you get the point.

At the end of the day, you have to believe in yourself even if no one else is in your corner. Even if people you look up to are telling you to go a different route. If you believe and you are willing to put in the long hours, the lonely nights, and the hard work that it takes to get to where you want. Then I promise you it will be worth the journey. I’m still on my journey to this day, and I wouldn’t change anything about it. If nobody else believes in you, just know I do. Chase that dream and fuck what society thinks!
